2025 MCAC Nancy Sprowls Scholarships

The Medina County Arts Council (MCAC) awarded a total of $5,000 to Medina County graduating seniors in the year 2025.

We are deeply grateful to the Sprowls family for their continued support. Their generosity allows us to honor the legacy of MCAC founding member Nancy Sprowls through this meaningful scholarship program.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS:

Reagan Aldridge (Brunswick HS) plans to attend Ohio State University to study Theater Arts.

Alyssa Bergman (Cloverleaf HS) plans to study Choral Education.

Hallie Bilek (Medina HS) plans to attend Baldwin Wallace to study Theater/Tech.

Kenna Brown (Wadsworth HS) plans to attend Kent State to study Fashion Design.

Samuel Haskell (Brunswick HS) plans to attend Oberlin to study Music Conservatory.

Ellianna Lappin (Medina Christian Academy) plans to attend Ohio Northern U to study Music/Theater.

Grace Mullen (Brunswick HS) plans to attend CSU to study Film & Media.

Madelyn Niksa (Buckeye HS) plans to attend Kent State to study Visual Communications.

Emma Walters (Buckeye HS) plans to attend Ohio State University to study Flute.

John Zilka (Highland HS) plans to attend Kent State to study Theater/Visual.

Organization Grants

MCAC awarded a total of $4,050 this grant cycle to six local organizations with an arts-centered focus or arts project to make the arts accessible to all.

Main Street Wadsworth ($500) for 2025 Summer Concert Series

Western Reserve Brass Band ($1,000) for General Operating Performance Expenses

Buckeye Community Theater ($500) for Production of Matilda, Jr.

Wadsworth Community Radio 97.1 FM ($750) for local Christmas Programing

Access the Arts ($700) for Creative art and music project at Hope Recovery Art Group

Medina Chorus ($600) for Director & Accompanist Services

Arts Week 2025

MCAC is looking for businesses, organizations, and local artists who are interested in hosting an event for Arts Week such as a tutorial, workshop, competition, or mini performance.

Arts Week 2025 takes place July 13th thru July 20th.

The purpose of Arts Week is to provide free or low cost artistic experiences, activities and performances throughout Medina County for all ages with a goal to celebrate the arts and the creative spirit that flourishes within our county.

If you would like to be a part of MCAC’s 42nd Annual Arts Week, please email us MedinaCoArtsCouncil@gmail.com with your proposal.

Educator Grants

MCAC Educator grants are designed to promote, strengthen, and enhance the arts and arts education in Medina County’s schools. This includes, but is not limited to the disciplines of music, visual art, theater, dance, and language arts. The grants are intended to aid educators in funding an innovative and substantive project that might be outside of their administrator’s budget.

The application period will be opening soon. The Application will be posted on our website along with the details on eligibility and requirements.
