Grants/Scholarships Update

Recipients of the 2022 MCAC grants and scholarship awards will be announced on Monday, May 2, 2022. This year, we’ve received 12 Teacher Grant applications, 11 Arts Organization applications, and 26 Scholarship applications!

2022 Arts Week

Medina County Arts Council will again present Arts Week this year with a youth arts camp, daily arts activities and performances at multiple locations, and art installations throughout each venue across Medina County.

Local artists, arts organizations, and entrepreneurs of all genres in Medina County are invited to attend the 2nd MCAC Arts Roundtable on May 15, 2022 at HeARTland in Homerville.

ORMACO will host a free jazz performance at 2 pm featuring The Turner/Exton/Goodman/Cirillo Quartet at HeARTland, 8187 Camp Rd. in Homerville. After the concert, we’ll gather for the Arts Roundtable to collaborate on advocating for the Arts in Medina County. A Chicken Dinner with side and drinks will follow for $10.

Now in its 39th year, Medina County Arts Council (MCAC) continues to serve numerous arts organizations and individual artists as well as residents and visitors of Medina County through our programs, events, and contributions.

Arts Events in April

Access the Arts is pleased to announce a Benefit Concert by The Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America on Sunday, May 1 at 11 am at Highland High School Auditorium, 4150 Ridge Rd. in Medina. This is a donation-based concert … 100% of the proceeds will go toward humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and musicians in need in Ukraine. Seating is first-come, first-served.

Medina High School Drama Club presents “Puffs … or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic (Two Act for Young Wizards) by Matt Cox” A fast-paced and energetic production taking you through seven eventful years of wizard school, with both recognizable and new characters. Friday, April 22 – 7 PM, Saturday, April 23 – 7 PM, and Sunday, April 24 – 2 PM . Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online.

Main Street Wadsworth presents “In Cahoots ... An Evening of Magic and Mentalism with The Alans” on April 22, 2022. From mind-blowing illusions to personal stories, their performance is a tantalizing mix of magic, mentalism, and audience interaction. Opening Act by The Wadsworth High School Jazz Band. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online.

Concerts in the Barn - Tim Moon brings his “Queen” tribute to Mapleside Farms on Friday April 29, 2022 at 6:30 pm. For more information and tickets, visit www.mapleside.com.
