Medina County Arts Council Announces Scholarships for Graduating Seniors Active in the Arts MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio – The Medina County Arts Council (MCAC) is pleased to announce that the board of trustees will be awarding MULTIPLE one-time scholarships for a combined total of $5,000. The Nancy Sprowls memorial Fund established by the Sprowls family to honor MCAC founding member, Nancy Sprowls, funds this year’s scholarships. Applications will be accepted until March 15, 2025 (not 3/31/2025 as stated in previous press release) from graduating seniors (class of 2025) residing in Medina County who have been actively involved in the arts in high school (this includes, but is not limited to music, visual art, theater, dance, and writing). A declaration of a major in some form of the arts is required and while submitting a transcript is also required, a minimum GPA is not a criterion to be eligible for MCAC scholarships. The scholarships are to be used towards tuition, books, and other school supplies. The online application for this funding opportunity can be found using this link: MCAC High School Scholarship Program MCAC, a non-profit organization, whose purpose is to promote and build community excellence through the arts in Medina County, established an arts scholarship program in 2017 for Medina County graduating seniors. In keeping with its mission, MCAC awards scholarships annually to help fund opportunities for emerging artists to study, develop and practice their art. “MCAC is very proud to be able to assist graduating students who have been actively involved in the arts during high school and are continuing their education at a technical school, a 2-year, or 4-year institution, or training/certification for employment in an arts-related career.” state board president, Kelly Parks. Established in 1983, the Medina County Arts Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support and promotion of the arts, individual artists, art organizations and arts education in Medina County. Each year, MCAC provides grants to Medina County organizations, schools and communities promoting the arts, and maintains a scholarship program that awards scholarships to graduating Medina County seniors.
