Let’s Celebrate the Arts!

Medina County Arts Council presents the 39th Annual Arts Week with a full calendar of arts performances, demonstrations, and activities happening all around the county from July 9 to 17.

Sponsored by Mercer Transportation, Arts Week kicks off with ORMACO’s “Jazz Under the Stars” on Saturday, July 9 featuring IndiGo Jazz Ensemble and concludes with Medina County Art League’s 48th Annual Art in the Park on Sunday, July 17.

Sand Sculptor, Carl Jara
Beginning Saturday, July 9, Planet Joy Studio/Intervention for Peace presents Cleveland’s own professional sand sculptor Carl Jara to Bicentennial Commons at N Court & Liberty Streets in Medina. At noon on Monday, July 11, Carl unveils his giant sand sculpture and talks about his techniques and inspirations. At noon on Tuesday, July 12, Carl sets up a “sandbox” to teach kids how to construct their own sand art!

Bandura Ukrainian Music
The students from the Hryhory Kytasty Cleveland School of Bandura will perform at Medina’s Gazebo on Wednesday, July 13 at 12:15pm as part of the Kids Art Fest. For 40 years, the Bandura Ensemble has helped students in Northeast Ohio develop their knowledge of the Bandura and of traditional Ukrainian music and song while preserving the history and culture of the Bandura.
