Access the Arts will provide free quarterly music sessions (some virtual) to the residents at the Medina County Home to bring enrichment and emotional healing to the residents. These concerts are fun and interactive with dancing and era period music and genres. Cloverleaf Creative Writing plans to establish a formal club to host the JustWrite interscholastic writing competition’s annual tournament at Cloverleaf as well as tournament fees to enter both Division 1 (Freshman/Sophomore) and Division 2 (Junior/Senior) teams. ORMACO will host the Jazz Under the Stars and Opera Under the Stars concert series now celebrating 11 seasons. The goal of these programs are to provide the community with access to top-notch professional jazz musicians and Cleveland Opera Theater members in Medina from June through August. Ohio Youth Ensemble Stage produces a youth musical in Medina each summer. The production is open to elementary through high school students regardless of ability or financial circumstances. While there is a participation fee, scholarships are provided to any child in need. Wadsworth Community Band will hold concerts from October through December and use the funds to compensate band director, Pat Santelli and to purchase new music and equipment for the amateur wind and percussion musicians in order to provide free admission to the public. Wadsworth Radio plans to broadcast performances by the Wadsworth High School Jazz Ensemble and Show Choir, Elementary SchooIs, Community Band, and Community Chorus, and produce “Six Degrees of Ohio,” a show that highlights music and artists born in northeast Ohio.
