Grants Awarded for School Projects

Medina County Arts Council has awarded over $1,550 in grants to Medina County arts teachers and projects at Medina High School, Wadsworth Central Intermediate School, Brunswick Middle School, and Brunswick Kidder Elementary. Grants will benefit over 1,458 students this school year from 1st to 12th grade.

“Dining for the Arts” reservations still available

Enjoy a special dinner in the home of Medina County Arts Council supporters while raising funds to support arts grants, scholarships, Arts Week, and special arts programming for the children of our county. Seats are filling up quickly, so make your reservations now. Once reserved, your hosts will contact you to confirm the date and provide directions. Here are the available dinners:

Jingle & Mingle Holiday Cocktail Party

Hosts Linda Loveless and Jill Morton kick off the holidays with a festive cocktail party including specially prepared small plates, wine, beer and a signature holiday cocktail – all at the home of Linda Loveless. Grab your friends and bring them to the party!

Deck the House Challenge

Enter your home or nominate a neighbor, family, or friend’s home in the “Deck The House” Holiday Lights Challenge sponsored by the Medina County Arts Council and Medina County Convention & Visitors Bureau. This year’s challenge highlights the artistry of Medina County homeowners and showcases the unique ways we celebrate the holiday season.

Anyone can vote for their favorite display. A Facebook Live event during the week of December 12 will surprise the winners with a visit from Santa and presentation of the coveted Deck the House Lighting Contest light bulb trophy. Watch Facebook posts for the date and time of the Live Event.

Maps with listings and locations of the entries will be available on our website or Facebook page beginning in November.

Student Workshops

The Cliffside Artist Collaborative is offering FREE Digital Art Workshops in November and December for high school students in Medina County: “Basics of Procreate” and “Advanced Procreate.” Sketch, paint and create digital art on an iPad using Procreate, a complete art studio. Find out more here.

MCAC Board Retreat

The Medina County Arts Council held a Board Retreat on Saturday, October 30 at the Root Candles Co. Community Room in Medina to plan for its 2022 activities and programs. We will announce these plans in the December issue. Our mission is to advocate for, support, and nurture the arts in Medina County.
