Join us for Virtual Arts Week from July 13-17, 2020 to be aired live or prerecorded daily at noon and at 7:30 pm. These presentations highlight local talent in action and help promote the Medina County Arts Council mission to Advocate for, Support, and Nurture the Arts in Medina County.

2. Go to the Arts Week Event and click “Going” or “Interested” to attend. Click on “Share” to tell your friends and family to join in.

Ekklesia Reed Quintet

Ekklésia Reed Quintet is a chamber music ensemble of five instrumentalists who are members of the award-winning and professional wind ensemble Cleveland Winds: Sue Keserich (oboe), Willow DiGiacomo (clarinet), Travis Hogue-Smith (bass clarinet), Thomas Lempner (saxophone), and Philip Kish (bassoon) … two members live in Medina. Though strongly influenced classical traditions, ERQ is open to the influence of world music, jazz, and improvisation. In addition to becoming the first professional reed quintet in Ohio, ERQ’s purpose is to encourage collaborations with others in the arts community and to feature and premier new works by local composers.

Grady Miller

Grady Miller is an Americana, Roots and Blues duo from Akron, Ohio performing original music for listening audiences. They create a powerful blend of styles that captivates the listener with their variety and intensity. Their lyrics speak to the soul and take you along on a journey through the stories of life. They freely move between Folk, Rock, and Blues to Country and Irish fiddling, but the essence of their sound lies at the crossroads of the Americana and Singer-Songwriter genres.

Adam Michel Art Demonstration

Adam Michel lives in Seville and is a Art Education Teacher with Cloverleaf School District in Lodi. Adam will demonstrate how to use chalk pastel to create landscapes. Cloverleaf Middle School's Visual Art program strives to enhance the student’s awareness and appreciation of art’s presence within society. Students are expected to complete, both collaboratively and individually, hands-on projects incorporating various media and techniques.

John Husbands

John Husbands plays songs from the 60’s to current, mostly on acoustic guitar, but this year he will also play piano. His Live Facebook Concert will be a blend of the most popular songs from the last 50 years. John lives in Medina and has been singing and playing guitar since the age of 12. John has performed concerts at various local establishments throughout the years, including nursing homes, schools, and in church.

Medina Centre for Dance Arts

The Trinity Dance Company of MCDA, under the direction of Kelly Parks, will present works from their June recital performing Lyrical and Jazz pieces including Walking on Sunshine with Hannah Hoelk, Charlotte Nunn, Peyton Snow, Alexandria Meisterics-Hiner, Courtney Snow, Annabelle Thompson, and Reese Noftz; Whole New World with Hannah Hoelk, Charlotte Nunn, Peyton Snow, Alexandria Meisterics-Hiner, Courtney Snow, Annabelle Thompson, and Reese Noftz; Clap Snap with Charlotte Ziogas, Megan Robbins, Hallie Bilek, Cameron Smith, Anna Vilimonovic, McKenna Lichty, and Maylee Martin; and True Colors with Charlotte Ziogas, Megan Robbins, Hallie Bilek, Cameron Smith, Anna Vilimonovic, McKenna Lichty, and Maylee Martin.

Jim Gill

Jim Gill will be performing songs in a live setting and recording them. Then take the live audio and video, and edit in still photos and videos of various Medina County sites (cities, parks, businesses) and citizens.

Andrew Zeiger & Nick Elkevizth

Both Andrew and Nick with Lodi Music are classically trained musicians, each with more than fifteen years of professional experience teaching, performing, etc. The theme of their project is ”Learn a Song with Nick and Andrew …" a video tutorial with the help of their students on the Woody Guthrie song, "This Land is Your Land”. During the video, viewers will be instructed with a note by note description of the melody line of the song on multiple instruments including; guitar, piano and violin.

Parsons and Polk

David Parsons and Dan Polk are a popular acoustic guitar and vocal duo who have been performing together since their high school days in the early ‘80’s at Brunswick High School. Both Medina residents, they play a blend of classic rock, country, and even folk music that appeals to everyone … “and is fun to sing along to.”

KS Studios will be presenting a vocal performances recital which will feature students of Kim States.

Bobby Laverty

Bobby will be performing on guitar and vocals. He will be presenting a live concert inspired by Blues & Classic Rock genres.

17 year-old performer from Buckeye High School performs the song "Best Part" by Daniel Caesar, but with a twist... In his video he sings while three other versions of himself play the guitar, piano, and trumpet.

ORMACO
Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) celebrates the sounds of summer with a series of virtual performances including Jazz Under the Stars, Grooves through the World, and more!

Medina Community Band
The Medina Community Band presents their first virtual Summer Band Concert on the Medina Community Band website as a celebration of 161 years (since 1859) of presenting community concerts in Medina.

Wadsworth Community Band
Since our Independence Day Celebration Concert will not happen this year, WCTV has agreed to air the 2019 concert. The band performed "Duty, Honor, Country" on July 3, 2019 to honor our heroes.

Local artist and teacher from Medina demonstrates a “how to” lesson on colored pencil techniques.
