MCAC 2021 Grants Announced

This year’s Medina County Arts Council (MCAC) grants for nonprofit organizations, schools/teachers, religious organizations, or recovery institutions in the county will be accepted through Feb. 28, 2021.

Eligible funding includes financial support for general operating expenses or guest artists’ fees, play royalties, publicity, etc. for special projects. The funds must be used within this calendar year. The grant does not provide funds for tangible property (i.e. paint, costumes, equipment, etc.)

All grants will be reviewed in March and decisions made in April. Applicants will be informed of grant awards by May 15, 2021.

2021 MCAC Scholarship Announced

The Medina County Arts Council will award one $1,000 scholarship to a Medina County graduating senior who has been actively involved in the arts during high school and are continuing their education at a technical school, 2-year, or 4-year institution. A major in the arts is not required to be eligible.

The scholarship may be used toward tuition, books, or other school supplies. The scholarship must be used during the school year immediately following the award.

Submissions must be received or postdated no later than 11:59 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2021.

Student Art Show

The Medina County Arts Council in partnership with the Medina Co. Arts Foundation, Main Street Medina, and Huntington Bank presents “A Celebration of Youth Art Month: Student Art Show“ to be held from March 5-29 in various storefronts of businesses surrounding Medina’s historic district. Artwork on display is created by students throughout Medina County.

MCAC will provide four $50 Best in Show awards to a high, middle, elementary and alternative school student entry from across the county, and first, second, and third place ribbons in each category.

MCAC Annual Meeting

The 2021 Medina County Arts Council Annual Meeting will be held virtually on Wednesday, February 17 at 5 pm. All active MCAC Friends of the Arts are welcome to attend.

Trustees will be elected. We will also share the 2021 vision and work plans. If you wish to join the meeting, email Linda Loveless at medinacoartscouncil@gmail.com
